Appearance to Mary Magdalene
ESV Mark 16:9 [Now when he rose early on the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, from whom he had cast out seven demons. 10 She went and told those who had been with him, as they mourned and wept. 11 But when they heard that he was alive and had been seen by her, they would not believe it.

A woman was considered by most Jews to be unable to testify in court to the veracity of a claim. The idea that the disciples would start the testimony of Jesus resurrection on purpose with the testimony of a woman, and a woman who had formerly had seven demons in her, is absolutely contrary to any sort of credible story that an ancient Jew would fabricate. It shows that God the Father honors women, and it is a powerful reason for the truth that these accounts are what happened and are not fabricated by anyone!

The main point? Jesus is alive!

Appearance on the road to Emmaus

12 After these things he appeared in another form to two of them, as they were walking into the country. 13 And they went back and told the rest, but they did not believe them. See Luke 24 for more on this.

Jesus is alive!!

Appearance to the Eleven

14 Afterward he appeared to the eleven themselves as they were reclining at table, and he rebuked them for their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they had not believed those who saw him after he had risen.

Jesus is alive!!!

The Great Message

15 And he said to them, "Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation. 16 Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. 17 And these signs will accompany those who believe: in my name they will cast out demons; they will speak in new tongues; 18 they will pick up serpents with their hands; and if they drink any deadly poison, it will not hurt them; they will lay their hands on the sick, and they will recover."

The main verb in this part is 'Proclaim' (go is just a participle in the Greek. The emphasis is on 'Proclaim' and should be in our readings in English as well).

ESV Genesis 41:25 Then Joseph said to Pharaoh, "The dreams of Pharaoh are one; God has revealed to Pharaoh what he is about to do. 26 The seven good cows are seven years, and the seven good ears are seven years; the dreams are one. 27 The seven lean and ugly cows that came up after them are seven years, and the seven empty ears blighted by the east wind are also seven years of famine. 28 It is as I told Pharaoh; God has shown to Pharaoh what he is about to do. 29 There will come seven years of great plenty throughout all the land of Egypt, 30 but after them there will arise seven years of famine, and all the plenty will be forgotten in the land of Egypt. The famine will consume the land, 31 and the plenty will be unknown in the land by reason of the famine that will follow, for it will be very severe. 32 And the doubling of Pharaoh's dream means that the thing is fixed by God, and God will shortly bring it about. 33 Now therefore let Pharaoh select a discerning and wise man, and set him over the land of Egypt. 34 Let Pharaoh proceed to appoint overseers over the land and take one-fifth of the produce of the land of Egypt during the seven plentiful years. 35 And let them gather all the food of these good years that are coming and store up grain under the authority of Pharaoh for food in the cities, and let them keep it. 36 That food shall be a reserve for the land against the seven years of famine that are to occur in the land of Egypt, so that the land may not perish through the famine." 37 This proposal pleased Pharaoh and all his servants. 38 And Pharaoh said to his servants, "Can we find a man like this, in whom is the Spirit of God?" 39 Then Pharaoh said to Joseph, "Since God has shown you all this, there is none so discerning and wise as you are. 40 You shall be over my house, and all my people shall order themselves as you command. Only as regards the throne will I be greater than you." 41 And Pharaoh said to Joseph, "See, I have set you over all the land of Egypt." 42 Then Pharaoh took his signet ring from his hand and put it on Joseph's hand, and clothed him in garments of fine linen and put a gold chain about his neck. 43 And he made him ride in his second chariot. And they called out before him, "Bow the knee!" Thus he set him over all the land of Egypt. 44 Moreover, Pharaoh said to Joseph, "I am Pharaoh, and without your consent no one shall lift up hand or foot in all the land of Egypt." (Gen 41:25 ESV)

THE TERM 'THEY CALLED OUT' BEFORE HIM IS THE EXACT SAME TERM JESUS USES IN MARK 16:15. We are to announce Jesus' gospel! Dead, buried but now alive! AND what does this mean? When he died, you and I died. When they buried him, they buried you and me. When he arose, we arose...to new life..

This is what water baptism signifies. This is our hope.

IF You are struggling with your faith, focus on the cross, burial and resurrection of Christ

Ascension to heaven

19 So then the Lord Jesus, after he had spoken to them, was taken up into heaven and sat down at the right hand of God. 20 And they went out and preached everywhere, while the Lord worked with them and confirmed the message by accompanying signs.]

The only study recently I've done in Mark is the passage portraying the Kingdom is like a farmer who sows his field...and while he sleeps it grows. See Natural Church Development by Christian Schwarz for more on that.
